8 Months

I feel like Brooks is just growing so fast I can't even keep up with these posts! As soon as I finish one, he's another month older.

At 8 months Brooks celebrated his first Christmas! This year we spend the holiday with my parents in South Carolina. I didn't really think he'd notice anything but he was so cute! He was SUPER into wrapping paper. He LOVED opening his presents and would roll around with the paper making all kinds of noise until I had to take it away when it went in his mouth. He didn't mind though, as there were plenty more gifts where those came from!

Brooks also celebrated his first New Years. He didn't feel much like partying though and was in bed by 8. Since we were in SC where fireworks are legal, it was a loud night. Brooks only woke up once though which was pretty good!

This month Brooks got his first tooth....and his second tooth a couple of days later! The first one FINALLY came in on January 3rd after a couple of rough days of teething.

We had a bit of a scare this month with his weight. He started losing weight which is never good for a baby his age. He also got a little stomach bug which did not help. After lots of doctor's appointments and lots of prayers we got the issue under control and Brooks started gaining weight! I have never felt a greater sense of relief then I did when I saw that he had gained weight on that scale. The thought that something could be wrong with my precious little baby was the worst feeling I've ever experienced. I am glad to have that behind us.

Brooks continues to love his Sophie and he has added a beloved zebra to the mix. He loves to be held and loves to have tons of attention. He loves being around people and is still giving strangers the biggest smiles while we are out running errands. He can scoot backwards and winds up in the strangest places. He likes to bounce in his jumperoo, but it starting to not like it when I get out of his sight. He is still the sweetest little thing and we just adore him.
