To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.

Family Photos

While we were in South Carolina for Christmas we had the opportunity to have our family pictures taken. Jeff and Amanda from Dreampop Media were absolutely amazing. They were able to take some great pictures of our family and really captured our Brooks's personality. We are so thrilled with the photos and look forward to capturing our family each year to see how it grows!

One funny thing about the day we took the pictures is that it was about 80 degrees. I picked out our outfits when it was more like 50 degrees, so we were burning up!

7 Months

Our baby is 7 months old!

This month Brooks learned to sit on his own! It was something we had been working on for a while, but this month he became more sturdy. It has been so amazing to watch him grow and develop. He definitely remembers people now and gets excited when he recognizes people. There is no better feeling in the world than to see him light up when I walk in a room.

He is up to eating 3 times a day. He still likes everything for the most part, but every now and then he will protest about green veggies (peas, green beans). He will cry while he is eating, big huge tears, but as soon as you give him fruit, he goes right back to his perky little self. Which leads me to the next thing, this boy knows how to get what he wants. Whether it's more food, to be picked up, anything. He can play you like a fiddle.

He loves to be startled. If you surprise him he laughs his adorable little laugh. He also likes when you pretend to drop him.. Guess we might have a thrill seeker on our hands.

He has discovered faces and loves to explore them. If you are holding him, he reaches for your eyes, nose, and even puts his little fingers in your mouth while your talking. He loves to chew on your fingers as well.

He is sleeping very well. He had a little lapse last month but we seem to be back on track. He takes 2-3 naps a day and sleeps about 10 hours at night. One of the highlights of everyday is rocking him before his naps. He looks at me and we sing a few songs before I lay him down. I'm going to miss those moments oh so much.

Brooks celebrated his first Thanskgiving this month. His grammie, papa, and Aunt Caroline came out to NJ for the holiday. He had a fabulous time being held and played with by some of his favorite people! He experiences his first Black Friday shopping as well. Yes, I'm the crazy mom who brings her stroller to Black Friday.

The rest of the time was spent getting into the Christmas Spirit. Brooks got to meet Santa at Macy in Herald Square! It was crazy busy and we may have waited an hour and a half but SO WORTH IT!

I can't believe my bear is more than halfway to turning one year old. Where has the time gone?

6 Months

At 6 months Brooks is still happy and smiley as always. He is famous for his crazy facial expressions. There is never a dull moment with this kid. This month's photo shoot was another difficult one. He has a fascination with the month sticker and cannot take his eyes or hands off of it!

This month he really mastered baby food. He loved everything we gave him. We had to cut him off sometimes because if left to his own devices, he would eat until he was sick!

Even though he loves to eat, he is still a teeny tiny little boy. This month he weighed in at 13 pounds 2 ounces. He is growing in length though. Guess he will just be tall and skinny, lucky boy!

This month Brooks celebrated his first Halloween! He dressed as a dinosaur and was ridiculously adorable! We went to our Ward's Halloween party and had a blast. Then Brooks and I went to South Carolina where he got to trick or treat for the first time. It was hot in SC and his costume was very warm so he wasn't too impressed and didn't last long, but he sure was cute!

He continues to love to jump in his jumperoo. He gives anyone who meets his eye a big ole smile. He rolls around like crazy when playing on the floor and winds up in the oddest places (under the couch, behind the bed, etc.) He continues to yell at church every Sunday. His favorite toy by far and away is Sophie the Giraffe.

We love you Brooksy Bear!
